Installing/Configuring the phone

1. Download latest version of Campaignr from http://www.lecs.cs.ucla.edu/~dhkim/files (Could be group A or B or C depends on IMEI (unique id number given by nokia) number of your cellphone).

2. Put on the battery and memory card

3. Turn on the phone

4. Set location, time, and date (Note that order of date is day/month/year)

5. Configure auto-update time/date

     a.	Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Date & Time (Tab) -> Network Operator Time (Auto-update) 

6. Install Campaignr

     a.	Install PC suite from the Nokia N80 CD.
     b.	Plug-in Nokia N80 to your PC using USB cable 
     c.	Run Nokia PC Suite -> File Manager -> Phone memory (C:) -> Data 
     d.	Create C:\Data\Data\Campaignr and C:\Data\logs\Campaignr 
     e.	Save the downloaded campaignr files to C:\Data\Data\Campaignr 
     f.	Menu -> Tools -> File Manager -> C:\Data\Campaignr -> click .sis file and install Campaignr. If it doesn’t work, try to use the other group of Campaignr

7. Setup Left Hot Key to 'Campaignr'

     a.	Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Phone -> Standby mode 
     b.	Point left selection key to Campaignr\
      

8. Default *.xml to test if ‘Campaignr’ installed well or not will be given soon


Setup Access Point (to avoid password re-entry)

1. Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> Access points -> Options -> New access point -> Use default settings

2. Connection name -> USCWiFi

3. Data bearer -> Wireless LAN

4. WLAN network name -> Search for netw. -> select whatever network you have at USC

     a.	WLAN security sett. -> WEP key settings 
     b.	WEP key -> put in the password 


Establish a connection through USCWiFi

1. Menu -> Services -> Option -> Settings

     a.	Access point: -> Select Always ask 

2. Menu -> Services -> Nokia.com ->

     a.	Connection to server needed. Connect? -> yes 
     b.	Select access point: -> USCWifi (select) 
     c.	Create WLAN connection in offline mode? -> yes 
     d.	After confirming that the webpage uploads, exit the browser 
    

Pair GPS

1. Menu -> Connect -> Bluetooth

2. set phone name as UCLA asset number, which will be find back of the phone after sliding it. (Clikc a button looks like a pen to change to number input mode)

3. Activate Bluetooth mode to on

4. Go to right tab to search a bluetooth device (You should turn one GPS before searching)

5. Click found GPS and password is 1234.

6. authorize connecting to GPS automatically? -> yes


Run Campaignr

1. Click LeftHotKey(Campaignr). click *.xml file shown. Click option and start Campaignr

2. The phone appears to be in offline mode. Continue connecting? -> yes

3. Create WLAN connection in offline mode? -> yes

4.  !!! SHOULD NOT ASK PASSWORD !!! since you already configured WLAN setting.

5. Check that it takes pictures and uploads images

(*#0000#) - Display the software version, the date when the software was built and the phone model. In some cases, the phone model is not the one used by marketing. It is the internal model used inside Nokia. For example, RM-36 is the internal name of Nokia 6680.
